The maximum number of participants per group is 12, in the classical category the number of singers is limited to 8. Within this group of participants, any mixture of voices is possible.

Participants are not permitted to use any instruments (except simple percussion instruments).

The organisers reserve the right to decide which groups take part in the competition.

Every group has 25 minutes to perform and must sing a minimum of four pieces. Singing for longer than the permitted time will result in deduction of points. Performance is judged only on musical and performing talent and not on any speeches made in between pieces.

The organiser provides audio engineering, including a technician. The groups may use their own microphones, mixers etc. We suggest that the groups perform with their own audio engineer. Details must be checked with the organiser in advance.

In the category for classical vocal ensemble single microphones are not permitted. The groups will be amplified with ambient room microphones.

Application for the competition is free of charge. However, participants will cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. Participants will receive no money for additional performances at the competition.

Participants provide one recording of a song for a cd and the homepage of vokal.total inclusive all rights.

All rights for video and audio material made during the event will remain with the organiser.
